Angostura Bitters Cocktails
|
Angostura bitters was developed by Surgeon General Dr J. Siegert to improve the appetites and well-being of his troops. With 45 Percent Alcohol it contains a secret blend of herbs and spices, allegedly over 40 are involved.
Angostura is an essential ingredient in Pink Gin, and a welcome addition to numerous other drinks from Trinidad Rum Punch to Ginger Beer. It`s also great in food - add a few drops to spice up soup or use in a marinade for meat.
TASTING NOTE: A deep burgundy colour with intense aromas of fruit, herbs and spices. Angostura should not be consumed by itself, but adding a few drops to other drinks imbues them with a herby, spicy warmth.
